Job Role: Associate Facilities Technician

Salary: Up to Β£25,000 DOE
Job type: Permanent, full time (37.5 hrs per week)
Are you practical, hands-on and interested in developing a career in site maintenance?
We are looking for an Associate Facilities Technician to help maintain our Chapel-en-le-Frith site. This is an entry-level, hands-on position with no line-management responsibility, supporting the upkeep, safety and day-to-day operation of our buildings and working environment. This is not a laboratory or scientific role, and scientific qualifications or experience are not required. It may suit someone starting a career in facilities or with practical experience gained through general maintenance, caretaking, construction, DIY or a trade environment.
You will be supported by an experienced team while developing your maintenance skills and gaining experience across a range of facilities activities.
What you will be doing:
- Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the site
- Responding to maintenance issues and either resolving them or escalating them when specialist support is needed
- Supporting general site improvements and facilities projects
- Completing routine site and safety checks
- Identifying and reporting faults, hazards and maintenance requirements
- Keeping maintenance records clear and up to date
- Monitoring materials and supplies and reporting when stock needs replacing
- Helping to keep the site safe, clean, organised and well maintained
- Providing a helpful and responsive service to colleagues across the site
About you:
- You enjoy practical, hands-on maintenance work
- You have some practical experience or a basic understanding of general maintenance tasks
- You are comfortable using basic tools and learning how to complete new tasks safely
- You are reliable, organised and take pride in the quality of your work
- You are willing to learn and develop your maintenance skills
- You communicate clearly and work well with others
- You are flexible and willing to help with a range of facilities and site-maintenance tasks
