Job Role: Compound Management Scientist

Concept Life Sciences seeks a Compound Management Scientist to join our team. In this laboratory-based role, you will support our drug discovery programmes by preparing, storing, tracking and distributing compounds. Your work will help ensure that project teams receive accurate, traceable and high-quality samples within agreed timescales.
What you will be doing:
As a Compound Management Scientist, you will work alongside our scientific project teams to prepare compound stocks and assay-ready plates. This will include weighing, dissolution, aliquoting, serial dilution, cherry-picking and reformatting.
You will register, track and store samples using our compound management systems and operate laboratory automation such as liquid handlers, plate sealers, tube handlers and barcode readers. You will also support compound shipments, monitor stock levels and sample quality, maintain accurate records, and help keep the laboratory running safely and efficiently.
About you:
- You will have at least two years of hands-on compound management experience, and a good understanding of the processes involved.
- You will have a BSc or MSc in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, life sciences or a related subject, or equivalent practical laboratory experience gained in industry.
- You will have experience in areas such as weighing, dissolution, compound storage and retrieval, and solid and liquid dispensing.
- You will have used a compound inventory or sample management system and have experience with automated or semi-automated laboratory equipment.
- You will have strong attention to detail and good numeracy skills, particularly in dilution calculations, molarity and unit conversions.
- You will be well organised, able to follow procedures accurately and committed to safe working. You will also communicate well and work reliably within a busy, service-focused team.
