Role Purpose

To provide Water Hygiene and Water Treatment control measures and remedial works to the required standards as per their training and instructions. To fulfil function of deputy in their absence and to undertake any other reasonable activities relevant to the function as and when required by the Contract Service, Contracts Director. Comply with industry standards – BG29 / BG50 / PD855468:2015 / HSE ACoP L8 / HSG274 parts 1, 2 & 3 / HTM.04.01 / BSRIA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-start site Risk Assessment and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Co-ordination of work with local premises manager.
  • Control of work on site including site safety risk assessments (pre-start and dynamic) and to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of those who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
  • Correct use of hazardous substances including handling, storage, use, disposal, emergency preparedness and response and personal health checks (COSHH).
  • Report of accidents, incidents, near misses, complaints and recommended actions.
  • Complete schedule planners with details of weekly and daily tasks (at least a month in advance).
  • Comply with customers access and security requirements, and other site rules.
  • Provide high level of service as per training, instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Complete to a high standard report sheets and Legionella Risk Assessment.
  • Prompt submission of paper reports and Risk Assessments, highlighting recommendations and remedial works following site visits.
  • Prompt communication of out of specification reporting.
  • Provide technical expertise to customers during site visits.
  • Identify commercial opportunities.
  • Ensure that company image and standards are maintained.
  • To comply with working hours and driving hours rules.
  • To not allow working day to exceed 14 hours door-to-door.
  • No more than 13 shifts worked in any 14 days.
  • For long journeys / shifts comply with instructions to use overnight accommodation and take regular rests.

Experience/Skills/Qualification

  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workloads.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Experience of building infrastructure / maintenance.
  • Working in physically demanding environments.
  • Legionella Risk Assessment and control measures.
  • Handling, storage and use of hazardous chemicals.
  • Knowledge of L8 HSG274 part 1, 2 and 3, HTM.04.01, BG50, PWTAG.
  • Able to work alone and achieve tasks without supervision.
  • Customer and company focused.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Water Management Society Basic / Advanced Legionella Risk Assessor Training.
  • Safety Training / Awareness: Confined Spaces Training, Working at Heights, Basic / Emergency First Aid, Basic Spill Response, Manual Handling, Safe Use of Ladders, Hazardous Material Handling, Asbestos, Environment.
  • Current full driving licence.
  • Previous experience within an associated industry.

Salary: £27,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
