About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Commission Cleaning Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role requiring a minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in pre-commission cleaning, including both conventional and CPC filtration flushing. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality services in line with BSRIA BG29/2021 and BG50/2021 standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out pre-commission cleaning tasks including flushing and chemical cleaning of closed systems.
- Demonstrate full knowledge of BSRIA BG29/2021 and BG50/2021.
- Conduct water hygiene tasks such as TMV servicing, calorifier inspections, and tank cleaning/disinfection.
- Review schematics and drawings, perform dynamic risk assessments, and complete site documentation electronically.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards including PD855468:2015, HSE ACoP L8, HSG274 parts 2 & 3, HTM.04.01, and BS8552.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety on site, including chemical handling and COSHH procedures.
- Drive company vehicles safely and maintain them to required standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in pre-commission cleaning.
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).
- CSCS card and DBS check (provided by us).
- Strong understanding of BSRIA Guidelines BG29 and BG50.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competent in using tablets/computers for site documentation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable:
- Industry training (e.g., Water Management Society, HSG274).
- Safety training including confined spaces, manual handling, and asbestos awareness.
