Role

Overview: We are looking for caring, compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to patients in hospitals, care homes and community settings.

The successful candidate will work alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive safe, dignified and compassionate care.

Key

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
  • Assist patients with mobility and moving and handling.
  • Support with meals, hydration and nutrition.
  • Take and record patients' vital signs and observations when trained.
  • Support patients with their daily activities and promote independence.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Assist nurses with clinical and non-clinical duties.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Report changes in patients' health or behaviour to the appropriate nurse.
  • Maintain patients' dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Previous healthcare or care experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Caring, compassionate and professional attitude.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to complete relevant training.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Satisfactory DBS/Access NI check, where applicable.
  • Commitment to providing safe and person-centred care.
