About the Role
As a Childrenâs Home Support Worker, you will support children and young people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and challenging behaviour in a residential setting in Welwyn Garden City. Working 12-hour shifts, youâll provide consistent, person-centred care on a 1:1 basis and as part of a team, helping to promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and daily living skills. Youâll play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, supporting young people with their routines, activities, and development while following care plans and behaviour support strategies.
Duties
- Provide consistent, highâquality care and support to children and young people with LD and Autism
- Support young people who may present with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour support approaches
- Work 1:1 and as part of a team during 12âhour shifts
- Promote independence, emotional wellbeing and daily living skills
- Build trusted, professional relationships with young people
- Support with education, activities, appointments and community access
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management strategies
- Maintain accurate daily records and reports
- Ensure a safe, structured and nurturing environment in line with Ofsted requirements
