We currently have an opportunity for a talented Joinery Design Co‑Ordinate to join the Concept Bespoke team. This will be a role working closely with the Joinery Project Managers to ensure projects are run efficiently and effectively. As Design Co‑Ordinate, you will enable a smooth design development phase by preparing drawings and controlling the process through setting standard details, control of drawing status, creating and populating trackers/schedules which are shared externally and internally and managing procurement and tracking of joinery components.

Main Responsibilities

  • Attend design workshop meetings
  • Conduct accurate site surveys
  • Produce detailed Auto CAD shop drawings compliant with client intent and building standards
  • Assisting with pre‑production administration including updating trackers/schedules
  • Preparation of samples for sign off
  • Conduction accurate take offs for procurement of materials/components
  • Agreeing standard details at the project start and checking that the design team are compliant with intent before handing over drawings to the Joinery Manager for final review
  • Research and provide information for specification changes or solutions to clients design intent
  • Initially review client comments and report design time/cost variations to joinery manager
  • Provide commentary on shop drawings to the factory RFIs
  • Provide installation guidance and be point of contact for site should they require more information
  • Provide technical guidance on joinery components to the internal team and liaise with suppliers to receive and incorporate correct technical data into our designs
  • Coordinate logistics for externally finished joinery components e.g. metal finishing
  • Coordinate joinery components issued to factory or site separately e.g. ironmongery

Administration

  • Communicating with suppliers for technical support
  • Take off and populate ironmongery, sample, components and finishes schedules
  • Compile quotations for components and ironmongery for purchase
  • Track delivery of components and ironmongery
  • Gather information on lead times for components such as wallpapers, fabrics, ironmongery etc.
  • Collate information and create O&M manual drafts for sign off
  • Produce As built drawings

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication with project stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge of joinery design and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in Auto CAD and producing drawings for bespoke joinery
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Effectively manage time in order to keep on top of drawing programmes and releases
  • Confident oral and written skills
  • Forward planning to avoid programme failures
  • Site surveys when required

Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
