Contract Length: 6 months
Location: London SW6, 2-3 days onsite requirement
The key requirements are:
- Network Architect (not Engineer) mindset
- Strong multi-domain networking expertise (WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi/DC)
- Security-aware design capability
- Experience owning and governing architecture designs
- Stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
Proven experience owning and contributing to architecture/design (public or private sector)
Ability to:
- Present designs confidently to senior stakeholders
- Provide expert-level feedback on designs
Ideally someone who has progressed from engineering into architecture (common background)
Essentials Experience:
- Experience and knowledge of the Government Security Classifications levels and an understanding of the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework
- Experience of designing system via Architectural Frameworks especially TOGAF
- Understanding of ITIL and Agile methodologies
- Experience in writing Design Documentation suitable for accreditation up to IL5
- Experience of working with Accreditor to ensure the design meets the needs of the security standards being applied for IL5
- Expert knowledge in the design and build of resilient designs
Expertise of designing a Microsoft Windows environment:
- Windows Server
- Microsoft SQL server
- Active Directory
- GPO
- High Availability services
- Windows desktop / VDI
- Certificates and PKI design
- RSA Token
Expertise of designing a network infrastructure:
- Cisco Routing / Switches
- TCP/IP
- Network Services (DNS/DHCP/NTP)
- Intrusion protection / Detection Solutions hosted on AWS including their Well Architected Framework and Landing Zones (experience of PALZ is a bonus)
- Designing and working with AzureAD and Office 365 Services
- Designing a Linux environment within a larger Windows environment
- VMware Virtualisation
Expertise of designing and developing software solutions using some of the following technologies:
- .NET (VB, C#, ASP.NET, .NET CORE)
- MVC Framework
- Python
- JavaScript (REACT, Bootstrap Frameworks)
- Database design
- SQL / SQL Server
- NoSQL technologies e.g. MongoDB, Hadoop, etc.
- Documenting business processes using BPMN (or similar frameworks)
- Understanding of Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
Desirables:
- Ability to prioritise, execute tasks and achieve results against competing project demands
- Preferred TOGAF qualified
- Preferred ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation certified
- UK full Driving Licence
