Essential:
- A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows workstation and server deployment, system management, and desktop support.
- Experience in the management and deployment of Windows Domain Services, including Active Directory services and account management, Group Policy management, DHCP and DNS services.
- Microsoft Windows patch management using WSUS.
- Administration of Hyper‑V virtualization systems.
- Management of Microsoft SQL servers and Failover clustering.
- Documentation Skills, with the ability to produce documents for use by colleagues.
- Sound knowledge of the latest developments and future strategy for their technology area.
- A “can do” attitude.
- Self‑paced, motivated, and capable of independent problem solving and fault finding.
- 1st to last line support as part of a small team.
Desirable:
- Advanced Infrastructure skills covering administration.
- Fault finding/diagnosis and fix, File/Print Clusters.
- Enterprise thin client environment including SmartCards and PKI.
- Messaging (Microsoft Exchange server and Database Availability Groups (DAG)).
- Hardware build and evaluation experience.
- Experienced in the deployment and management of Trellix (McAfee) security systems.
- Linux server system management, ideally Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Network communications and routing (ideally Cisco), and VOIP / VTC solutions.
