Experience
- Proven experience owning and contributing to architecture/design (public or private sector).
- Ability to present designs confidently to senior stakeholders.
- Provide expert-level feedback on designs.
- Progressed from engineering into architecture (common background).
Essentials Experience
- Experience and knowledge of the Government Security Classifications levels and an understanding of the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework.
- Designing system via Architectural Frameworks especially TOGAF.
- Understanding of ITIL and Agile methodologies.
- Writing Design Documentation suitable for accreditation up to IL5.
- Working with Accreditor to ensure the design meets the needs of the security standards being applied for IL5.
- Expert knowledge in the design and build of resilient designs.
- Competence in a wide range of the following areas:
- Microsoft Windows environment with components: Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, GPO, High Availability services, Windows desktop/VDI, Certificates and PKI design, RSA Token.
- Network infrastructure with components: Cisco Routing/Switches, TCP/IP, Network Services (DNS/DHCP/NTP), Intrusion protection / Detection.
- Solutions hosted on AWS, Well-Architected Framework and Landing Zones (PALZ bonus).
- AzureAD and Office 365 Services.
- Linux environment within a larger Windows environment.
- VMware Virtualisation.
- Software solutions using: .NET (VB, C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core), MVC Framework, Python, JavaScript (REACT, Bootstrap), Database design, SQL/SQL Server, NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Hadoop, etc.).
- Documenting business processes using BPMN (or similar frameworks).
- Understanding of Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
- Transferring knowledge and skills to junior staff.
Desirables
- Ability to prioritise, execute tasks and achieve results against competing project demands.
- Preferred TOGAF qualified.
- Preferred ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation certified.
- UK full Driving Licence.
