Our client is looking for Financial Accounting Managers (Remote).
Must have:
- A technical background with a good understanding of central government finance, having worked there in the last 6/12 months (FReM, CBG, MPM, etc.).
- A self-starter, self-motivated, able to identify issues and resolve them independently.
- The ability to explain financial implications to non-financial people.
- Experience in writing accounting papers.
- Ability to analyse and interpret large amounts of data in the GL.
- Capability to make improvements and efficiencies to processes.
- Recent technical accounting experience (within the past 12 months max).
About The Candidate (specialist skills & requirements):
- Qualified and experienced financial professional (CCAB, CIMA or equivalent).
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills in a finance environment, with experience of delivery and meeting tight timescales.
- Able to think creatively and strategically to solve problems and manage risks.
- Adept at building strong stakeholder relationships, using your network to support delivery against your objectives.
- Strong oral and written presentational skills, with the ability to explain complex financial issues to non-specialist audiences.
- An authentic and credible leader, with the ability to engage and motivate those around you and lead an inclusive culture.
- Ability to see change as a chance to drive efficiency and innovation; acting as an agent for change wherever you identify the opportunity to protect, drive and add value.
- Experience in producing financial statements in a large public sector organisation.
- Experience working with auditors and managing audit requirements in relation to the annual report and accounts.
- Experience managing a project to challenging timescales.
- Experience preparing and reviewing accounting papers or providing detailed technical accounting advice based on knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, particularly IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 17, IAS 16, IAS 36, IAS 37, and IAS 38.
- Experience managing a geographically dispersed team and providing leadership for wider finance colleagues.
- Experience working with Oracle/SOP and related applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of government finance (desirable).
Assistant Financial Accountants (Location: TBC)
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:
- Supporting the preparation of the Client's Annual Report and Accounts and Whole of Government Accounts.
- Helping deliver the consolidation of group data, including intercompany reconciliations across ALBs.
- Providing technical accounting advice based on IFRS as adapted by the FReM.
- Supporting year-end audit requests by preparing evidence and explanations.
- Working with teams across the Client to ensure financial information is complete, accurate and submitted on time.
