Key Capabilities/Knowledge
- Sound understanding of systems engineering, its applicability, lifecycle processes, and systems considerations together with sound understanding of wider engineering and engineering management considerations
- Able to determine suitable system engineering approaches and consider enterprise and political issues
- Understanding of engineering management, including information management, considerations
- Able to apply relevant systems engineering techniques
- Able to determine required systems engineering outputs such as engineering and management plans, product descriptions, test result reports etc.
- Anticipates possible problems and determines how they should be addressed
- Possesses sound systems approach understanding wider picture, cause and effect, likely consequences etc.
- Good understanding of system acquisition considerations
- Good understanding of role fulfilled by stakeholder/user requirements, system requirements, system specifications, system design descriptions etc.
- Good negotiation and presentation skills
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree Level qualification or equivalent
- CEng or equivalent
- 7 - 10 years plus relevant experience in engineering/systems engineering
Specific Domain Knowledge
- Knowledge of maritime domain
- Knowledge of solution technology(ies) and applicable systems engineering (e.g. design, operation, support) considerations
- Knowledge of systems engineering management and project management considerations
