Skills and experience
Technical and architecture
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture, governance and landing zone principles.
- Strong understanding of AWS, Microsoft 365 and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Depth across enterprise networking, identity, security, connectivity, storage, compute and data protection.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, Bicep or equivalent tooling.
- Understanding of container platforms, platform engineering, CI/CD, observability and automation.
- Practical knowledge of resilience, backup, disaster recovery, capacity management and FinOps.
- Extensive experience producing and reviewing HLDs and LLDs in complex enterprise environments.
- Proven experience operating within an architecture governance or Design Authority function.
Leadership and communication
- Ability to influence senior technical, business, customer and supplier stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication, presentation, facilitation and decision-making skills.
- Experience chairing technical governance forums and resolving competing design priorities.
- Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business impact, options and recommendations.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and knowledge-sharing capability.
