Who we are looking for:
- Qualified legal professional with experience providing clear, practical legal advice to officers, elected members, and stakeholders across complex public sector environments.
- Proven experience conducting litigation matters, including preparation and advocacy in Magistrates’ and County Court proceedings.
- Strong background in licensing law, including preparation of cases, supporting hearings, and advising committees on procedural and evidential requirements.
- Experience advising on planning enforcement, building regulation matters, and preparing statutory documentation for prosecutions and enforcement action.
- Skilled in housing and property law, including possession proceedings, tenancy disputes, leasehold issues, boundary disputes, and housing enforcement matters.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and completing a wide range of legal agreements including leases, licences, contracts, easements, and statutory orders.
- Strong understanding of local government legal frameworks, with the ability to manage competing priorities, conduct legal research, and support senior legal leadership and governance functions.
