British Rowing and the UK Sports Institute have an exciting opportunity for a full-time physiotherapist to lead the delivery with the Olympic Development squad as well as provide clinical support to the Senior Olympic and Paralympic squads at the GB Rowing Team (GBRT) National Training Centre (NTC) in Caversham, Reading. We are seeking an experienced practitioner who has worked with high performance sporting teams.
You will be an integral and valued member of a closely-knit high-performance team, collaborating with coaches specialised in rowing and strength & conditioning, and support personnel spanning various science and medicine roles. Together our goal is to assist rowers in achieving podium success on the global stage. The GBRT has a phenomenal track record of performance at the highest levels of Olympic and Paralympic sport and is seeking an exceptional physiotherapist to form part of the core daily delivery team towards the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Location: British Rowing functions out of a bespoke NTC in Caversham (near Reading) where athletes can train both on the water and on land whilst receiving World Class Coaching and Support Services. Due to the nature of the role, delivery will be in person to meet the needs of the sport.
Role requirements: A typical week would be Monday to Friday with a half day on Wednesday and rotations within the physiotherapy team supporting one Saturday every three weeks when at the NTC. There is also domestic and international travel for camps and competitions associated with this role. This will be approximately 80 days spread throughout the year, generally in blocks of 5-16 days. We utilise the High-Performance Centre at the Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre (near Marlow) for some Strength and Conditioning sessions as well as specialist physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.

Reporting to the Olympic Head Coach – Development and GBRT Athlete Health MSK Lead you will have the opportunity to guide aspects of prehabilitation and performance preparation throughout training and competition alongside world class MSK athlete health management to maintain training adherence across the group. You will play a significant role in designing, executing, and assessing physical health services – in collaboration with the coaching team – to support athletes to consistently deliver world-class performances.
