JOB TITLE: Physiotherapist (Women’s Academy)

DEPARTMENT: Women’s Academy

LOCATION: Cobham

CONTRACT: Sessional

JOB FUNCTION: To deliver physiotherapy service to Chelsea FC Women’s Academy, Chelsea WSLA and RTC Teams and the Foundation. The position will predominantly involve providing pitch side cover for evening and weekend games and training. The position will also require clinic cover including assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of players across the women’s academy.

You’ll be: (Responsibilities)

  • To provide a comprehensive football physiotherapy service to the CFC teams as part of the medical team.
  • To provide physiotherapy cover of CFC Academy, Chelsea WSLA and Regional Talent Centre training sessions, home and away matches, including national and international tournaments as required.
  • To provide first aid cover for sessions at the Cobham training ground and Stamford Bridge.
  • To contribute the introduction and implementation of any injury prevention and performance enhancement programs as required.
  • To conduct injury assessment and treatment for players in conjunction with other medical staff members.
  • To implement individual player treatments and rehabilitation programmes as part of the medical team.
  • To be responsible for the organisation and completion of all necessary paperwork associated with the role as requested by coaching and admin staff and club medical staff.

Measures of Performance

  • Contribute to the accurate diagnosis and prognosis of injured players and provide written, organised player treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
  • Carry out professional treatment standards on all players as set out by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Core Standards of Physiotherapy Practice (as documented in player’s notes).
  • Effective communications with the Medical Department Members, squad Managers’, Coaches, Players and their families as required.

You’ll have: (Experience)

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional degree qualification in Physiotherapy / Sports Therapy / Sports Rehabilitation
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council / BASRAT / SST
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists / Society of Sports therapists
  • Have a drivers’ licence and own car.
  • FA Intermediate Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) certificate or FA Advanced Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) certificate

Experience

Essential

  • Have more than 2 years post-graduate experience.
  • Be motivated and have a dynamic approach to their work.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Be comfortable working evenings and weekends and variable hours on a weekly basis.
  • Previous experience working in sport, particularly with children.
