Who we are

We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success. Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).

Your day-to-day

  • Design and deliver programmes – you’ll collaborate with the Data and Performance team to create and implement strength and conditioning systems that align with our vision, values, and player development model.
  • Oversee loan and rehabilitation support – you will manage strength and conditioning provision for loan players and work with medical staff on late-stage rehabilitation to ensure smooth return-to-play transitions.
  • Monitor and report on player performance – you’ll coordinate testing, screening, and gym-based data to provide objective insights that inform profiling, benchmarking, and development plans.
  • Implement movement and performance testing – you will conduct and analyse speed, agility, and physical assessments to guide programme design and track progress.
  • Promote player welfare and injury prevention – you’ll work with the Sports Science and wider Strength and Conditioning team to enhance player health, reduce injury risk, and maximise player availability.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement – you will evaluate programme impact, explore new methods, and ensure best use of facilities and technology to enhance high performance.
  • Foster collaboration and professional standards – you’ll encourage an interdisciplinary approach across departments while maintaining compliance, ethical standards, and ongoing CPD.
  • Contribute to research and development – you will work with the team to integrate the latest advancements in sports science and medicine, supporting internal research and excellence in player welfare.

What we are looking for

  • Qualified and credible expert – you hold an accreditation as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (BASES or UKSCA) and possess a relevant BSc or MSc in Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning, or a related discipline.
  • Proven background in elite sport – you have a verifiable record of success working with elite footballers and/or athletes both domestically and internationally, ideally with experience across Women’s football, WSL, and UEFA environments.
  • Excellent experience supporting elite athletes – you bring a proven track record in delivering physiotherapy and strength and conditioning services to elite-level athletes to enhance performance, prevent injuries, and ensure effective recovery.
  • Thorough understanding of sports science and performance – you have a deep understanding of sports science and medicine disciplines and their influence on athlete development and performance.
  • Collaborative team player – you demonstrate extensive experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing proactively to player performance and development.
  • Passionate leader and role model – you are highly self-motivated with a positive, engaging approach, capable of inspiring others and promoting a culture of high performance.
  • Flexible and committed professional – you’re adaptable and resilient under pressure, willing to travel with the team, work weekends, and adjust your schedule as needed to meet performance demands and organisational goals.
  • High standards and professionalism – you uphold the highest standards of professional and personal conduct, maintain confidentiality, champion equal opportunities, prioritise health and safety, and take ownership of your continuous professional development.
