Main Purpose of the Role

To support the planning and coordination of transport operations and internal processes. This includes ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate data management, and effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of transport and planning procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the transport and processing teams.
  • Assist with delivery planning and scheduling.
  • Liaise with transport providers, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate customer orders.
  • Monitor systems and communicate any delays to relevant departments.
  • Support the tracking and reporting of transport KPIs.
  • Learn to investigate and resolve discrepancies, delays, and service issues.
  • Participate in stock takes where transport planning input is required.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude to learning, with a confident telephone manner and willingness to develop within the role.

Process Planning (Support Role)

  • Assist the Process/Cutting Foreman in planning daily cutting and processing schedules.
  • Support shift handovers by clearly communicating relevant planning information.
  • Help ensure cutting notes and job instructions are accurate and available.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure materials are prepared in advance.
