We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager to join an established foundry and manufacturing business. This is a senior technical role responsible for leading Process Engineers and Lab/Melting Technicians, while overseeing technical processes and driving improvements across the foundry. The successful candidate will focus on improving quality, yield and productivity, reducing scrap and rework, and developing a strong continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the technical team, including Process Engineers and Lab/Melting Technicians
- Oversee and support melting and foundry processes
- Drive improvements in yield, scrap, quality and productivity
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain effective process controls and testing procedures
- Support the Quality function and customer quality requirements
- Manage tooling, including new tooling, repairs and relationships with external toolmakers
- Drive the use of in-house machining, 3D scanning and emerging technologies
- Support and coordinate MAGMASOFT simulation activities
- Lead NPI projects and ensure production sign-off requirements are met
- Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams
