Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative with a background in steel, warehousing or distribution? We’re working with a leading steel distribution company in Wigan who are looking to add a skilled Operative to their busy operations team.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for a variety of warehouse and logistics duties, ensuring that materials are picked, packed, moved, and loaded safely and efficiently. Your work will directly support the daily and next-day delivery schedules, keeping operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick and pack steel products accurately for customer orders.
- Load and unload vehicles safely using FLT and overhead cranes.
- Move and organise materials around the warehouse to maintain efficient flow.
- Prepare loads in line with delivery schedules.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Work closely with warehouse and transport teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience operating Forklift Trucks (FLT) and Overhead Cranes (essential).
- Experience in picking, packing, loading, and unloading goods.
- A background in material handling, warehousing, or steel distribution.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- A team player with a proactive attitude.
