We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join a precision subcontract manufacturing environment based in Dudley (Unit 20). This is a day-shift role involving setting, programming, and operating CNC milling machines and horizontal borers.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines and horizontal borers
- Working primarily with Heidenhain controls (Fanuc experience beneficial)
- Producing precision components to tight tolerances in a subcontract machining environment
- Interpreting engineering drawings, including machining symbols, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Carrying out self-inspection using precision measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, slip gauges, etc.)
- Ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in all work produced
- Supporting wider workshop activities as required to meet production demands
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in medium to large CNC milling and boring operations
- Strong knowledge of Heidenhain programming (Fanuc knowledge advantageous)
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience working within a subcontract machining environment
- Apprenticeship in engineering or equivalent hands-on CNC machining experience
- Competence in using precision measuring tools for quality verification
