About the Role
We are a growing engineering consumables distributor seeking an experienced and commercially driven National Account Salesperson to support our continued expansion across the UK. This role is responsible for identifying, acquiring, and developing national and multi-site customers, with a focus on organisations purchasing small to medium volumes of engineering consumables across multiple locations. The objective is to position the business as a preferred national supplier through a combination of strong relationships, consistent service, and a scalable online procurement solution.
This is a fully remote position with occasional travel to offices, customer sites, and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure new national and multi-site accounts across sectors including manufacturing, engineering, construction, maintenance, and fabrication.
- Develop and execute strategic account acquisition and growth plans aligned with company objectives.
- Present and promote the company’s national capabilities and online procurement platform as a scalable B2B solution.
- Represent the business at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to generate leads.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within national and multi-site customers.
- Successfully onboard new customers and drive growth in volume, value, and margin.
- Manage and expand existing national accounts to maximise sales performance and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with internal Head Office teams to ensure seamless onboarding and consistent service delivery.
- Prepare and present tailored proposals, quotations, and pricing agreements.
- Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements in line with company policy.
- Track and report on sales performance, forecasts, and KPIs in collaboration with finance stakeholders.
- Develop strong knowledge of the engineering consumables distribution market.
- Work closely with operations, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure excellent customer experience.
- Share customer feedback and market insights to support ongoing product and service development.
About You
- Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally managing national or multi-site accounts.
- Strong new business development and relationship management capability.
- Confident presenting solutions and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Comfortable working remotely with the flexibility to travel when required.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-driven.
- Experience within engineering consumables, industrial distribution, or technical B2B supply is desirable but not essential.
