Infrastructure Security Architect required to focus on operational resilience testing and remediation work within the disaster recovery, backup and restore, and broader business continuity context surrounding Wintel/Azure infrastructure environments. Some of this work will include security hardening work in both pre-emptive and reactive capacity as part of a wider Wintel Engineering team.
Working collaboratively with both BAU and Project teams, your project work will focus on improving the environment(s), essentially working to strengthen the IT security position, and your BAU work will focus on Disaster Recovery and Security Incident Response during major incidents.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Design, management and enhancement of Security Solutions within VMWare vSphere and related SAN infrastructure environments
- Operational Resilience Testing for Infrastructure (Red Team Exercises, DR/Failover Tests, Security Threat Scenario Testing)
- Reactive Disaster Recovery Management; Backup and Restore
- Liaison with Infosec teams to ensure compliance of the infrastructure environment
- Automation of Security Testing utilising Powershell Scripts
- Server Hardening and Cyber Security Engineering in partnership with the CyberSec Engineer(s)
- Implementation of security protocols including SSO, MFA, PIM/PAM, PKI, Zero Trust policies etc.
- DR Runbook development and update; management of processes during incidents and escalation of work to relevant teams in line with runbook procedures
We are searching for a Security Architect, Infrastructure Security Analyst, Infrastructure Security Engineer/Architect who can demonstrate:
- Design of Security Solutions within Wintel and Azure Cloud Infrastructure environments
- Experience of backup and restore procedures within a mid-sized corporate company
- Background in Wintel Engineering - Windows Server, AD/GPo/Entra etc., Azure Cloud
- Reasonable capability with Powershell Scripting for automation of security tests
- Operational Resilience Testing - DR, BCP, Security Incidents etc.
- Exposure to HCI (Hyper Converged Infrastructure) tools such as VMWare vSAN, Dell VxRail, HPE SimpliVity, Cisco HyperFlex or Nutanix.
DESIRABLE
- Understanding of infrastructure security protocols PIM/PAM, PKI etc.
- Experience and understanding of Cyber Security monitoring and response (infrastructure)
- Excellent communication skills able to engage with process driven departments such as InfoSec
Strong opportunity to work across a number of fields within the infrastructure team gaining valuable experience with emerging technologies; solid training and certification support experience offered by this firm within Microsoft AZ and SC level certifications.
