Position: Middle School Science/STEM Teacher – Comstock STEM Academy

Salary: Dependent on years of teaching experience, certification, and HQ status; the salary schedule is available upon request.

Requirements:

  • Valid Secondary Michigan Teaching Certificate AND highly qualified endorsement in Science 6–12, Integrated Science (DI) endorsement 6–12, or Biology (DA) endorsement 6–12.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach STEM electives, college and career exploration electives, and advanced middle school science classes, including coursework completed for high school credit.
  • Design hands‑on, lab‑oriented lessons that connect science, math, and engineering, and demand higher‑order thinking.
  • Use pre‑, formative, and post‑assessments to monitor growth, adjust instruction, and differentiate to meet every learner.
  • Develop rigorous lesson plans with measurable learning objectives aligned to standards and driven by active student engagement.
  • Implement project‑based learning and interdisciplinary units that bring STEM subjects to life.
  • Ensure students demonstrate mastery of grade‑level content standards.
  • Provide structured, standards‑based learning that interconnects STEM subjects across disciplines.
  • Initiate and grow STEM partnerships that enhance instruction inside and outside the classroom.
  • Pilot new programs and initiatives that advance the school's vision.
  • Use technology purposefully to promote learning, collaboration, and student creativity.
