Comserv are looking for an experienced Roofer to join our team of operatives. Reporting to the Repairs & Maintenance Manager and, on a daily basis, to our Supervisors, your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Undertaking all aspects of roofing work, including:
- Stripping any built up flat felt roof covering
- Replacing any timber or insulated roof decking
- Applying three layer torch on built up felt, including the formation of all drips, welts and upstands
- Forming internal roof gutters with correct falls
- Cutting and installing lead flashings
Additional to the above requirements, the ideal candidate should be able to carry out the following repairs/works:
- Pitched roofing tile repairs
- Felt and batten replacement
- Gutter repairs and replacement
- Fascia repairs and replacement
- Must be able to install mineral wool loft insulation
- Sky vac to clear gutters
- Repointing to chimneys, gable ends
- Pointing to verges and ridge tiles
- Tile and slate hanging
- Chimney pot replacement
- Install/replace lead slates including replacement of mushroom cowls, weathering collars where necessary
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Good general roofing skills and experience, including flat roofs.
- Previous experience working on social housing contracts or undertaking domestic repairs
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise accordingly
- A full, clean driving licence
- Some groundwork knowledge would be useful
