About the Role

ComputerXplorers South West London, in partnership with Mahmutlar, is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging English Instructor to support our international Summer Camp programme. The camp is designed for Turkish children visiting London and aims to develop their confidence in spoken English through fun, practical activities while integrating technology, computing, robotics, and STEM learning experiences. The successful candidate will help children improve their English communication skills in an interactive environment, encouraging them to use English throughout the day while participating in computing-based projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging English language sessions focused on everyday communication and conversational skills.
  • Support children in developing confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and basic writing in English.
  • Integrate English learning into STEM, computing, coding, and robotics activities.
  • Encourage children to communicate in English during workshops, group projects, and recreational activities.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit varying English language abilities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with ComputerXplorers instructors and camp staff.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all children at all times.

Qualifications

  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Experience teaching English to children or young learners.
  • Experience working with primary or secondary-aged children.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate children from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL).
  • Experience delivering educational camps, workshops, or enrichment programmes.
