A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Naval Architect to join a fantastic engineering business in the Portsmouth area. With no day ever being the same, the Senior Naval Architect role offers genuine long-term progression and career development within a first-class manufacturing environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop ship structures and general ship design in compliance with international regulations and Classification Society rules.
- Collaborate with shipyards and design offices to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
- Develop and design various vessel systems, considering structural and general design implications.
- Create and manage the approval process for class-required drawings for ship structures and auxiliary systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of ship international regulations and Classification Society rules.
- Proven experience in general ship design and ship structures design.
- Preferable work experience in a shipyard or design office.
- Experience in the development and design of various vessel systems.
