Senior Design Engineer (Civil)- Fleet

£40,000 – £45,000

25 days holiday + BH | Private medical | Annual Bonuses

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Engineer in the team to join a large UK transport planning site in the Fleet

With no day ever being the same, the Senior Design Engineer will be in the centre of innovative and exciting projects. With the support of a growing company you will have opportunities for long term progression and career development.

The Senior Design Engineer role will involve:

  • Timely and Cost-Efficient Delivery: Oversee the completion of design work within established schedules and financial parameters.
  • Team Resource Oversight: Allocate workloads strategically to ensure personnel are focused on the most critical and time-sensitive assignments.
  • Inter-Office Coordination: Collaborate with senior leadership across various branches and disciplines to provide input and support on shared initiatives.
  • Authority Requirements Integration: Ensure that project designs account for and incorporate the expectations of relevant regulatory and statutory organizations.
  • Technical Review and Quality Assurance: Personally carry out or supervise the checking and approval of technical drawings and reports, offering clear and actionable feedback. Ensuring that all designs are prepared in accordance with MCHW,DMRB and/or local design guidance
  • Standards Compliance: Confirm that all engineering outputs align with applicable national and local standards and frameworks, such as those governing roads and highways.
  • Driving Improvement and Independent Thinking: Promote a mindset of innovation and continual advancement, while applying sound and independent decision-making.
  • Health & Safety Adherence: Maintain compliance with current health and safety practices, with particular attention to construction-related regulations, and take a forward-thinking approach to identifying and addressing risksTop of Form

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working on Section 278 and 38 highway design projects
  • Proficiency working in highway drainage and micro drainage software
  • Strong knowledge of highway technical documentation within DMRB
  • History of managing and controlling relevant highway contracts
  • Experience managing, developing and supervising highway design staff

Package and Benefits:
