A well-established and growing engineering manufacturer is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and development of innovative engineered products, supporting projects from concept through to production. The successful candidate will play a role in supporting the electronics design function with PCB layout, component selection, design activities and technical investigation, while also helping assess and develop new customer opportunities. The role would suit a proactive and practical engineer who would prefer a broad role rather than a narrowly defined PCB design position.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Proficient in SolidWorks and comfortable taking projects from concept through to manufacture.
- Enjoy solving technically challenging engineering problems, working closely with customers, and collaborating within a small, highly skilled engineering team.
- PCB layout and schematic capture.
- Component research, selection and specification.
- Supporting electronic circuit design across analogue and digital applications.
- Assisting with technical feasibility work for new customer enquiries and project opportunities.
- Supporting system-level design, including interfaces, communications, power, I/O and integration with other hardware.
- Prototype bring-up, testing, debugging and fault finding.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- May be a recent graduate with strong practical experience, have completed an apprenticeship or HNC/HND route, or already have several years' experience within an electronics design environment.
- PCB layout design experience.
- Comfortable working on different types of projects rather than specialising in one narrow area.
