Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of new door designs, features, and hardware to enhance product offerings.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and regulatory changes influencing product innovation.
- Drive value-engineering initiatives to optimise manufacturing efficiency and profitability while maintaining product function and quality.
- Address product development needs arising from customer complaints, procurement requirements, or quality concerns.
- Ensure all development projects follow the structured Innovation & Development process and align with IQC priorities.
- Produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks to support design and manufacturing processes.
- Document project progress, design iterations, and technical specifications in accordance with business protocols.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in product development, engineering design, or innovation within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to door and hardware development is an advantage.
- Experience in value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives is desirable.
- Strong technical and engineering knowledge related to product design and development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and technical drawing creation.
