This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, thriving business with a strong customer base who have very recently expanded the site. My client is looking to recruit a Trainee MAC Operator who is keen to learn and develop their skillset. This business works with a highly recyclable product and has a varied customer base made up of international businesses, providing excellent job security.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Manage and prepare customer artwork using multiple design software systems, including screenwork, trapping, proofing, FTP uploads, and maintaining organised digital plate and file storage.
- Coordinate artwork approvals by uploading proofs to customer portals, issuing plate specifications (colours, requirements, costs), logging samples, and ensuring full sign-off before production.
- Support production by inputting technical formulas, ordering plate materials, checking forward schedules, preparing trial artwork with Pre-Press and Printing teams, and ensuring proofing materials are ready.
- Contribute to departmental improvements by supporting new plate technologies, maintaining plate housekeeping standards, and attending pre-launch meetings with wider production teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Ability to differentiate between colours
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills
- Experience of lithography or origination
- Driven with a good eye for detail
