My client are currently recruiting for skilled and motivated TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team at their site in Bala. You will be responsible for fabricating high-quality stainless steel and other alloy components used in scientific vacuum systems and research applications.
Terms & Benefits:
- Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on skills and level of responsibility)
- Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 6:15am - 4:30pm (No working on Fridays)
- Contract: Permanent, full-time
- Annual Leave: 25 days per year plus bank holidays
- Other Benefits: Company pension scheme, death in service cover, free car parking
Responsibilities:
- Carry out TIG welding of stainless steel and other materials to a consistently high standard
- Work from engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and work instructions
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and weld integrity, conducting visual inspections and finishing work to customer specifications
- Support wider fabrication activities including cutting, forming, fitting, and light assembly as required
- Proactively identify and resolve fabrication or fitting issues during build
- Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure jobs are completed on time and to the required standard
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace at all times
- Take ownership of jobs from start to finish and support continuous improvement activities within the workshop
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience in TIG welding, particularly with stainless steel (ideally in thin-wall and precision applications)
- Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Strong fabrication and fitting skills - with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, agile team
- Good problem-solving mindset with a practical, hands-on approach
- Experience with vacuum equipment or scientific instrumentation (desirable but not essential)
- Interest in engineering, science, and technical manufacturing
