Salary: Β£42,000-Β£44,000 DOE

A well-established UK manufacturer is looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (mechanically biased) to join their flagship Heywood facility. You'll be working with modern, high-spec production machinery in a site that's continually investing in new technology, automation, and engineering capability.

Role Overview

  • Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance to maximise OEE, minimise downtime, and enhance equipment reliability
  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical faults, while supporting electrical maintenance activities when required
  • Work closely with engineering colleagues, production teams, and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain exceptional health & safety standards and promote safe working practices
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support the implementation of process enhancements
  • Contribute to ongoing engineering and improvement projects

Skills & Experience Required

  • Time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with multi-skilled capabilities
  • Experience within Food, FMCG, Packaging, Manufacturing, or similar fast-paced industrial environments is highly desirable
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills across conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, pneumatics, and associated production equipment
  • Basic electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience is advantageous
  • Comfortable working in a busy, high-demand setting
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude toward learning and development
  • Capable of working independently when required
  • Open to internal training and upskilling opportunities
