A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Manager to join a UK known FMCG manufacturer in the Deal area. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative and exciting industry!
Role & Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage the maintenance team, setting schedules and ensuring adherence to safety protocols - 4/5 engineers and 2 shift leaders below them.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of all factory equipment, machinery, and the physical plant.
- Budget & Inventory: Manage the maintenance department's budget, track inventory, and oversee vendor and contractor relationships.
- Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical assistance to production and lead troubleshooting efforts for operational and equipment issues. Ensures machinery reliability and safety through preventative and corrective maintenance - also maintenance scheduling.
- Downtime Reduction: Implement strategies to minimize planned and unplanned equipment downtime, ensuring maximum production capacity.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement processes to enhance operational efficiency, reduce defects, and optimize maintenance costs.
- Maintaining compliance with GMP, safety, and environmental regulations within the food and beverage manufacturing environment.
- Line machinery - Conveyors, Belt driven, Packaging machines, washing + filling machines, capping machines, labelling machines.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- FMCG line experience.
- Bottling experience is desirable.
- Managerial experience is essential - confident leading teams and projects.
- Technical Expertise: Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and read technical documents.
- Familiarity with Food & Beverage Manufacturing: Understanding of industry-specific equipment, regulations, and GMP is highly beneficial.
- Planning & Organization: Skills in scheduling maintenance tasks, managing workflows, and utilizing maintenance management software (CMMS).
- Leadership & Communication: Ability to lead a team, communicate clearly with various departments, and foster a positive working relationship.
