Our client is looking for an Injection Mould Designer to join their team in Stevenage. This role involves designing injection mould tools using SolidWorks, managing projects from concept through to manufacture, and working closely with the toolroom to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective tooling solutions.
Roles / Responsibilities:
- Design injection mould tools from concept to manufacture using SolidWorks
- Produce innovative tooling solutions, from single impression tools to complex multi‑cavity hot runner moulds
- Take ownership of tooling projects, managing them through the full design and build lifecycle
- Work closely with the in‑house toolroom to refine designs and ensure successful tool manufacture
- Liaise with suppliers and support DFM activities to deliver practical, cost‑effective solutions
- Drive tooling improvements, modifications and continuous improvement initiatives
About You:
- Proven experience designing injection mould tools, not just plastic components
- Strong knowledge of precision tooling, hot runners, side cores and mould actions
- CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
- Able to manage projects, priorities and deadlines effectively
- Hands‑on team player who enjoys working in a small, fast‑paced environment
