Full Stack Java Developer

We're working with a growing company that’s expanding its development team and looking for a Full Stack Java Developer. You'll work on a mix of modern applications, cloud-based projects and system integrations, collaborating with a supportive team and playing a key role in delivering new technology solutions.
The Role
As a Full Stack Developer, you'll be involved in everything from gathering requirements and designing solutions through to development, testing and deployment. You'll work closely with other developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software while helping shape future improvements and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Java/J2EE applications across both front-end and back-end systems.
- Work on the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to testing, deployment and support.
- Build and maintain integrations between internal and third-party systems using APIs and web services.
- Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues and help drive development best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and support build, release and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve existing applications and deliver new technology solutions.
Skills & Experience Required
- Commercial experience developing Java/J2EE applications.
- Strong full stack development experience with Java and React.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and system integrations.
- Familiarity with testing practices including unit, integration and regression testing.
- Experience using version control tools such as Git or SVN.
- Knowledge of Linux/UNIX environments.
- Exposure to containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of build, configuration and release management processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Experience with Struts.
- Knowledge of additional languages such as JavaScript, Python, C++ or Perl.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
