A growing and highly successful manufacturing business is seeking an experienced

Compliance Manager to join its engineering leadership team.

The Role

As Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all engineering, asset, and contractor activities remain fully compliant with statutory regulations and internal standards.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will lead compliance activities, contractor management, and engineering stores operations to drive safe, efficient, and audit-ready performance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and coordinate site-wide engineering and compliance activities, ensuring all statutory and company requirements are met.
  • Plan and oversee routine inspections, audits, and compliance-related schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records, systems, and documentation to support operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and drive completion of corrective actions arising from inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Analyse performance data and identify opportunities to improve processes, compliance standards, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support the development of a strong health, safety, and compliance culture through training, coaching, and best‑practice initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage third‑party contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with site procedures.
  • Review and support risk assessments, safe systems of work, and associated documentation.
  • Oversee key operational resources and inventory to ensure availability and support business continuity.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop team members while driving continuous improvement across the function.

About You

  • Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent technical qualification in an engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or other regulated operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience using maintenance, asset management, or operational systems.
  • Health and safety qualifications or relevant professional training would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • High attention to detail and a structured approach to managing systems, processes, and documentation.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience would be beneficial.
