The Finance function is responsible for maintaining the books and records of the Computershare Group. This includes providing transactional accounting services and support, financial planning and analysis, management and statutory reporting, commercial financial support to our business lines and group functions and managing the financial systems on which we operate globally. The Finance function is also responsible for all treasury activities covering both our corporate (balance sheet) and client (client assets) treasury functions.
A role you will love
Are you ready to take charge of governance and risk management within a global finance function? In this key role, you will be responsible for shaping and overseeing the governance and risk management framework, working closely with the CFO, heads of function, global process owners, as well as risk, compliance, and audit teams.
You\’ll play a crucial part in driving the first line of defense activities, ensuring all governance and control measures are not only in place but operating at their best; fully compliant and effective. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring adherence to legislative requirements and maintaining robust compliance standards across the organization.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across all global finance locations, supporting initiatives and building relationships with teams across multiple finance disciplines. Your influence will be key in driving adherence to policies, control frameworks, and playbooks, positioning you as a pivotal force in the organization\’s finance operations.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with the Finance Leadership Team, to ensure a complete set of globally consistent and applicable Finance policies and playbooks are in place and established an appropriate governance approach for global Finance to ensure continued compliance and development
- Ensure complete documentation of global risks and controls associated with end-to-end processes including where controls are manual v. automated.
- Support the Head of Finance Change and Functional teams in the design of new automated controls and supporting work to implement new automated controls where possible.
- Manage the control framework across Finance. Educate team members and provide guidance to drive adherence and ensure everyone is equipped to fulfil their responsibilities.
- Define the standard and format for documentation of processes across Finance. Identify exceptions to standard processes, implementing a method to deal with exceptions and improve visibility.
- Set up and manage an overall Finance Governance and Risk forum in collaboration with the Risk team, and ensure functional forums are also in place (eg, Tax, Financial Control, Treasury) and managed well, as appropriate
- Provide reporting to Finance Leadership Team, demonstrating adherence to control frameworks and visibility of emerging risks.
- Co-ordinate and support preparation of board and associated committee materials at both Group and subsidiary board levels.
- Manage the BCP and other legislative requirements for Finance, ensuring they are regularly reviewed, fit for purpose, and provide reporting as required.
- Provide support in respect of audit processes facilitating the provision of audit evidence to auditors where appropriate.
