Location: Bristol (Hybrid) In this position, you’ll be based in the Bristol office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week.

We’re currently looking to recruit an IT Business Analyst to join our Shared Services development team within Computershare Technology Services. This position sits within the technology department as part of a product-focused, cross-functional delivery team where you will build trusted relationships with the wider department to bridge the gap between technology and the business.

What makes this role exciting? You will have a large variety of work as we develop and maintain a large number of products. You will be part of a highly technical agile team, working alongside our development team. You will mentor other BAs, fostering their growth and skill development.

A role you will love: In this role, you will facilitate the definition of stakeholder requirements from an early stage in the Agile SDLC, forming the vision for a well-balanced Product Backlog for your delivery team to work from. You will be instrumental in creating and delivering high-quality communications, presentations, and visualisations, while also representing your delivery team within the broader project and department.

Engaging with stakeholders will be crucial, as you will collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences to share knowledge, convey complex ideas, provide updates, and effectively influence and challenge when needed as well as being open to taking on feedback.

Some key responsibilities:

  • Use a range of analysis techniques to lead and facilitate structured workshops with stakeholders and end users to identify and prioritise requirements.
  • Write high quality, clear User Stories and provide vision to the team for Product Backlog items.
  • Provide coaching and direction to less experienced analysts in need of guidance, through mentoring sessions.
  • Support estimates for User Stories based on the relative sizing scale used in your team.

What will you bring to the role?

You will bring previous experience in a similar role where you have worked in an Agile software development environment. Demonstrating key stakeholder management skills & communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll have experience using multiple analysis techniques to lead and facilitate workshops with stakeholders and to identify and prioritise requirements.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Formal qualification within IT Business Analysis, or similar (technical degree) is preferred.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, software architecture and technologies.
  • Pays attention to detail, demonstrates analytical and rigorous problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of basic scripting, database query to gain knowledge of existing systems.
  • Builds great working relationships, influences others, challenges effectively and responds well to challenge from others.
  • Team oriented, inspires confidence and trust in others.
  • Experience in Financial Services or other regulated industries is desirable.
