Senior Cyber Security Analyst (SOC) in Andover, Hampshire. Days & Nights – a genuinely great shift pattern. Security Clearance: SC required or Able to Achieve it. Permanent position with a competitive salary plus shift & on-call allowance.
Not your average SOC role. If you’re a Senior SOC Analyst who wants more than staring at alerts all night, this is a rare opportunity to work in a high-trust, high-impact security operations environment where your expertise actually shapes outcomes.
You need to already be a British Citizen and to have lived in the UK for 5 years, this will be checked. CND cannot sponsor citizenship or visas.
CND is expanding and we’re looking for an experienced Senior SOC Analyst to deliver 24/7 SOC services across mission-critical platforms, protecting organisations that really matter. You’ll be part of CND’s permanent team, but initially embedded on a very special client site in Andover. From there, genuine progression opportunities exist across CND’s wider consultancy and managed security services portfolio.
Why this role is different:- This isn’t “just” an analyst position, it’s a consultative, trusted-advisor role where you’ll mentor and support client analysts.
- Influence how monitoring is done, not just respond to it.
- Help shape capability, tooling, and process maturity.
- Access to further training during quiet moments.
And yes… the shift pattern really is that good:
- Brilliant rota designed for real work–life balance.
- Regular 5-day breaks built into your schedule.
- At least two full weekends off every month (rare in a 24/7 SOC).
- A growing, well-funded team investing in new capability, and in you.
- Deliver high-quality, in-depth security analysis from SIEM alerts through to investigation and response.
- Actively drive improvements in monitoring coverage, detection quality, and SOC effectiveness.
- Engage confidently with stakeholders at all technical levels.
- Proactively advise the client, bringing insight and calm leadership to complex security challenges.
- Serve as a point of escalation, supporting and guiding junior analysts.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, ArcSight, LogRhythm, or AlienVault.
- A strong understanding of how to get real value from security tooling.
- Experience building capability and consulting with customers to improve their environments.
- Knowledge of SOC processes, playbooks, and procedures (highly desirable).
- Confidence owning incidents end-to-end — from detection through investigation to response.
If you’re looking for a SOC role where you’re trusted, valued, and given room to grow, we’d love to hear from you.
How to Apply: If this sounds like an environment in which you would excel, please send your CV and a covering letter outlining your suitability, contract rate, and availability.
