- 12000000 per annum + hybrid Bilingual Software Engineer (Tokyo)Position OverviewWe are looking to hire a Bilingual Software Engineer to support development initiatives in Tokyo.
The ideal candidate will be technically strong and able to operate effectively in a Japanese-English bilingual environment, working with both local and global stakeholders.This role can be tailored across different seniority levels and technical stacks depending on project needs.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software applications aligned with business requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including product, QA, and global engineering teamsParticipate in system design, architecture discussions, and code reviewsEnsure code quality, performance, and scalability of applicationsTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the development lifecycleCommunicate effectively with stakeholders in both Japanese and EnglishContribute to agile development processes and continuous improvement initiativesCore RequirementsProfessional experience in software development (typically 2+ years depending on seniority)Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, Go)Experience with modern development frameworks and toolsBusiness-level Japanese (JLPT N2-N1 or equivalent) and English proficiencyExperience working in a team-based development environment (Agile preferred)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environmentPreferred Experience (Nice to Have)Cloud xsabvtc experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)Experience in international or bilingual work environmentsKnowledge of microservices architecture or scalable system designDomain experience (e.g., fintech, e-commerce, SaaS) depending on client industryHiring ConsiderationsBalance between technical capability and communication ability is keyCandidates with experience in bridging Japan HQ and overseas teams are highly valuableFlexibility on tech stack may be required depending on candidate availability in the Tokyo market
