Location / Working Pattern - Abingdon

Ideally 3 days on-site. Team on-site days: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. Preference for local candidates due to lab needs.

About the Role

This role exists due to a retirement at the end of May, and the team would ideally like someone to start before then to allow for a proper handover. You will support a critical test and lab environment, maintaining both hardware and firmware testing infrastructure. You will also take ownership of a test lab where responsibility currently sits with someone who is leaving. While primarily a hands-on technical support and test role, up to 40% of the role can include development work - which would significantly free up senior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop test lab infrastructure
  • Build and configure PCs
  • Support firmware and equipment testing
  • Maintain existing systems and documentation
  • Light development work (where skills allow)
  • Act as a go-to person for lab reliability and day-to-day technical support
