The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced IT & Digital Services Manager to take ownership of the organisation's technology estate and digital services function. This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to shape the company's IT strategy, enhance cyber security, improve business systems and drive digital transformation initiatives across the organisation. You will act as the central point of contact for all business technology activities, working closely with stakeholders, external suppliers and senior leadership to ensure systems remain secure, efficient, compliant and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- IT & Business Systems Management
- Administer and manage the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Support and maintain core business applications including SharePoint, Box, Notion, Microsoft Project, Visio and other critical platforms.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, licences and access controls.
- Maintain accurate records of IT hardware, software and digital assets.
- Monitor system performance and ensure business-critical services remain available and effective.
- Identify opportunities for technology improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Cyber Security, Governance & Compliance
- Develop, implement and maintain IT policies, procedures and documentation.
- Drive cyber security awareness and best practice across the business.
- Monitor emerging threats and work with external providers to implement effective controls and mitigations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, security standards and industry best practices.
- Support initiatives relating to ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and information security governance.
- Digital Transformation & AI
- Lead the implementation and management of the company's AI Governance Framework.
- Support the safe and responsible adoption of AI technologies and automation tools.
- Identify opportunities to streamline business processes through digital transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations to senior management.
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap aligned with business growth plans.
- Supplier & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with external IT support providers, technology partners and software vendors.
- Coordinate service reviews, escalations and supplier performance management.
- Support the procurement of hardware, software and technology services.
- Ensure suppliers deliver value, quality and agreed service levels.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary internal contact for IT and digital services.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on technology-related matters.
- Communicate technology updates, cyber security information and digital initiatives across the business.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations and commercial teams to support business objectives.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Experience
- Previous experience as an IT Manager, Technology Manager, IT Operations Manager, Digital Services Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and cloud-based technologies.
- Experience managing business systems, software licensing and IT infrastructure.
- Good understanding of cyber security, information security and IT governance principles.
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and managed service providers.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience implementing technology improvements and digital transformation projects.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with AI governance, AI implementation or automation technologies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and business process automation tools.
- Understanding of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials or similar compliance frameworks.
- Experience within warehouse automation, robotics, industrial automation, manufacturing, engineering or technology-driven environments.
