An exciting new contract opportunity for a Power Electronics Engineer on a 6 months contract, Outside IR35.
Power Electronics Engineer responsibilities include:
- Support and review the design of the DC-DC conversion stage of an on-board power electronics module to prototype readiness.
- Support testing and verification activities on existing prototype hardware, with the understanding that there is limited scope to influence the established architecture.
- Provide technical guidance to mechanical and PCB design engineers developing an integrated power electronics unit, combining PFC and DC-DC stages into a compact, robust, and manufacturable solution.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with the bring-up and verification of high-voltage power electronics, including:
- Safe working practices
- Appropriate control, measurement, and diagnostic techniques
- Ability to identify, prioritise, and investigate functional issues within complex power electronics systems, driving issues through to resolution.
Required Experience:
- Experience in development of power electronic systems such as DCDCs, inverters or rectifiers at high voltage (400V) and high power (10kW).
- Design of gate drives, selection of switching components, filter design and specification of inductors and transformers.
- Design of low-level analog and digital electronics.
