London (Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite) Up to £650 per day (Inside IR35) Initial 6-Month Contract | Strong Extension Potential

Are you a Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex data challenges and building scalable enterprise solutions? We are working with a major financial services organisation seeking an experienced engineer to help deliver a strategic data archiving, search, and analytics platform. This is a highly visible programme with significant investment, offering the opportunity to work across software engineering, data engineering, automation, and infrastructure.

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in designing and developing solutions that ingest, transform, archive, search, and analyse large volumes of structured and unstructured data. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll help build scalable, automated platforms that support critical business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable ETL and data ingestion pipelines
  • Build APIs and search interfaces for enterprise data platforms
  • Develop automation and self-service capabilities to streamline onboarding processes
  • Create analytics and reporting solutions that provide meaningful business insights
  • Contribute to the design and optimisation of underlying platform infrastructure
  • Work closely with engineers, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders
  • Produce high-quality, well-tested, and well-documented code
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the platform

Essential Skills:

  • Strong experience with Python and/or PowerShell
  • Commercial experience with C#, JavaScript, or .NET
  • Front End development experience, ideally using React
  • Strong background building ETL processes and data pipelines
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working across multiple technologies and disciplines

Desirable Experience:

  • Ansible or infrastructure automation tools
  • MSSQL, Oracle, or similar database technologies
  • Search and indexing platforms
  • Object storage or enterprise data archiving solutions
  • Power BI or data visualisation tools
