You will play a pivotal role in supporting high-performance electronic trading infrastructure in a fast-paced, regulated financial services environment. Location: Central London
The Role:
- Lead the management of global Linux Compute, Storage, data protection, archiving hardware/software, ensuring adherence to data retention policies and agreed service levels.
- Oversee platform maintenance, upgrades, service improvements, and full lifecycle management (deployment, patching, decommissioning).
- Provide technical leadership, act as the data protection SME, and deliver multiyear technology roadmaps.
- Drive automation using Ansible, Infrastructure as Code principles, and tools like Red Hat Satellite/AAP.
- Manage day-to-day team operations, engineering resources, budgets, and on-call rotation (follow-the-sun model).
- Ensure global alignment of standards, support audits/compliance, and collaborate closely with InfoSec for robust security.
- Proactively enhance system stability, performance, security, and produce RCAs, documentation, and Jira-based reporting.
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years’ management experience of enterprise storage & backup infrastructure and teams.
- 10+ years’ experience with storage solutions.
- 8+ years in data protection.
- Strong Linux administration expertise (RedHat preferred), including security, performance tuning, IaC, and Ansible (including Satellite management).
- Experience with Red Hat AAP/AWX, Bash/Python scripting, Git/GitLab pipelines.
- Monitoring knowledge (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Prometheus).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, multicast, network load balancers (F5 or similar), SAN/NAS, enterprise backup technologies, LTO, S3, shared/block storage.
- Significant experience in enterprise-scale infrastructure, preferably in regulated environments (Financial Services highly desirable).
- Exposure to x86 hardware (HPE OneView, Dell, ICC a plus), public cloud (AWS mainly), and databases from a protection perspective.
- Proven ability to articulate cyber threats, risks, and recovery strategies; engage with audits; and produce professional architectural designs.
