Salary & Requirements

• Salary Range: £55k to £65k (DOE)
• Security Clearance: Ideally active clearance: National Security Vetted, SC or DV, if not, willing to undergo government security vetting process
• Travel / Locations: Consultants will often be required to visit client sites in South-West England, situated along the M3/M4 corridor (mostly between Bristol and West London)

About the Role

My client, a leading Cyber Security Professional Services Specialist are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to provide high level technical security advice, guidance and support to a range of public sector clients e.g. Police, HMG and MoD. Practical experience and excellent knowledge of this sector and related security requirements is a strong requirement.

What You\’ll Be Doing

• Providing security consultancy and support to public sector clients such as HMG, Police & MoD related (as well as other sector) clients
• Reviewing the effectiveness of existing security controls and proposing proportionate security improvements
• Production of formal deliverables such as accreditation evidence, security policies and operating procedures (e.g. SyOPs), risk assessments, and security assurance management plans.
• Understanding, assessing and articulating business and information risk at a technical and business process level

Skills & Knowledge

• Previous experience in similar roles.
• Knowledge and understanding of public sector (e.g. HMG, Police, and MoD) cyber security policy, standards, guidance, security processes and organisation
• Expert understanding of Secure by Design and associated tooling, e.g. MoD Continual Assurance Activity Tracker, and HMG SbD Self Assurance Tracker
• Knowledge and understanding of MOD cyber security policy, e.g. JSP440, standards and guidance
• Related Cyber Security Certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CCSP) and / or Education based in IT Security
