We are seeking an experienced FinTech Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead a major technology transformation within a highly regulated environment. This is an exciting opportunity to operate at executive level, driving innovation, scalability and platform evolution while balancing delivery excellence and governance. Responsibilities As Chief Technology Officer, you will:
- Define and execute a forward-looking technology and platform strategy
- Architect an API-first, modular, cloud-native ecosystem
- Lead and scale a high-performing engineering and data function
- Enable faster delivery, innovation and product led development
- Own the organisation’s data strategy, establishing governance and platform capabilities
- Drive automation to replace manual and legacy operational processes
- Lead integration programmes across internal and external platforms
- Oversee cybersecurity, resilience and service performance
- Ensure compliance within a highly regulated environment
- Explore emerging technologies, including digital and programmable infrastructure
- Manage technology vendors, budgets and long-term architecture alignment
- Build a modern, high-performing engineering culture with strong leadership capability
Qualifications Key requirements include:
- Proven experience as a CTO or senior technology leader in a complex, regulated environment
- Demonstrable delivery in a scale up/start up environment, understanding the pitfalls and pressures involved
- An understanding of and the ability to succeed in a PE backed firm
- Strong track record of building and scaling modern technology platforms
- Deep expertise across cloud infrastructure, data, cybersecurity and architecture
- Experience leading large-scale technology and platform transformation
- Strong understanding of governance, risk and executive level reporting
- Ability to translate technology strategy into tangible business outcomes
- Exposure to emerging technologies such as digital or tokenised platforms
- Experience working with complex operational or transactional systems
- Relevant cloud, architecture or security certifications
