Location: UK - Hatfield, UK - London

We are looking for a Legal Adviser to join our UK in-house legal team within our Legal & Contracting function. In this role, you will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to our sales teams and support the business on a broad range of legal matters.

With a strong focus on IT outsourcing, you will play a key role in advising on bid strategies and contracting approaches, helping to drive successful commercial outcomes while effectively managing risk.

What you’ll do

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the business to minimise commercial exposure
  • Negotiate and draft agreements with customers and suppliers across both public and private sectors
  • Advise on bid strategies, contractual frameworks, and deal structuring for complex outsourcing opportunities
  • Manage in-life contractual disputes
  • Develop and maintain internal legal standards and policies
  • Take ownership of the delivery of significant business focused projects/deliverables to defined targets
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure best practice and drive continual improvement and internal training
  • Make decisions which impact on the success of assigned business matters i.e. results, deadlines and budget
  • Act as an ambassador for Computacenter
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and report any risks or incidents
  • Build strong relationships across the business and act as a trusted legal partner
  • Manage and implement projects relevant to specialist area including risk management
  • Assess situations, issues and opportunities and escalate when appropriate

What you’ll need

  • UK qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE (or equivalent) with in-house experience in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Experience working on outsourcing agreements, preferably acting on behalf of an IT supplier to both private sector and public sector customers
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a willing, helpful attitude
  • Proven experience in linking legal issues in a business and industry context and ensure that legal and compliance issues are taken into consideration and fully complied with
  • Excellent written and oral and negotiation skills with good attention to detail
  • Experience of managing key stakeholders and communicating pragmatic legal advice across the business
  • Ability to work independently and also to be part of a team
  • A calm professional manner, even during times of rapid change
