Apprentice Programme: Cyber Security Technologist Level 4 with Firebrand

Duration: 26 months

Join our Group Information Services (GIS) Cybersecurity team, where you’ll play a vital role in keeping Computacenter and our customers secure. Cybersecurity is at the heart of everything we do, and you’ll play a key role in reducing risks and safeguarding data.

As a Cyber Security Apprentice, you’ll get hands‑on experience in areas like Cyber Threat Intelligence, Security Operations, and Cyber Risk Management, giving you a strong foundation for a future career in cyber.

What you’ll do:

  • Spend 80% of your time gaining hands‑on experience and 20% studying for your Level 4 qualification.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, learning how to simplify processes and drive improvements.
  • Rotate across teams to understand their role in protecting our business.
  • Support team targets, reporting activities, and risk assessments.
  • Help promote cybersecurity awareness across Computacenter.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English at grade 4/C or above).
  • 3 A Levels or a Level 3 qualification – (Apprenticeship or BTEC in a STEM subject or IT).
  • Basic Microsoft Office 365 knowledge.
  • A genuine interest in learning and developing in Information and Cyber Security.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a structured, organised way.

Important Eligibility Information:

Please note that for successful applicants, offers will be conditional on passing additional eligibility checks with our training provider. These checks include a Maths and English assessment and a review of any previous qualifications you hold.

Due to the funding requirements of the apprenticeship, applicants must not already hold a Cyber Security Level 4 standard, GNVQ, BTEC or equivalent qualification, an IT/Business degree, or a CompTIA certification (working towards CompTIA is acceptable) to be eligible for this programme.
